Care Guide
Light
Juniper will do best in a bright indirect lighting exposure. Lower light exposures should be avoided, as this plant needs nearly full sun to prosper.
Water and Soil
Juniper plants should be allowed to dry out by about 75% between waterings. These plants do not like to stay moist for extended periods of time, and like most all plants, are susceptible to root rot if their soil remains too wet or soggy. Amending a standard well-draining potting soil with bark will help promote drainage, while the addition of perlite will ensure that proper drainage and root aeration are provided.
Temperature and Humidity
Juniper procumbens are hardy outdoors from zones 4 to 9. However, when keeping this plant indoors, it is best not to provide it with any temperature shocks, so we suggest not exposing the plant to temperatures below 50 degrees F. Juniper prefers moderate humidity levels. Additional humidity can be provided through a humidifier, pebble tray, or regular misting.
