Light
The Chinese Fan Palm prefers medium to bright, filtered or indirect light. These palms are tolerant of most light conditions, However, harsh, direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can easily burn this plants foliage.
Water and Soil
The Chinese Fan Palm prefers its top layer of soil to dry between waterings. Aim for keeping the soil lightly moist, never soggy, wet, or bone dry. A standard well draining potting soil works just fine for this palm. The addition of perlite, bark, or lava rock to a standard potting soil will help add drainage.
Temperature and Humidity
The Fan Palm will prefer indoor growing between 65 degrees F and 80 degrees F. Although it can sometimes tolerate colder temperatures, your indoor plant will respond best to consistency. This Palm will loves moistures, and it will benefit from the added humidity of a humidifier, pebble tray, or the simple misting of the air.
