Care Guide

Light

These ferns prefer low to medium or diffused light. Direct sunlight should be avoided.

Water and Soil

Fortune’s Holly Fern must stay evenly moist at all times but take care to not let the plant stand in water. Well-draining soil that is amended with peat moss and perlite is best for these plants.

Temperature and Humidity

These ferns typically prefer indoor temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 80 degrees F. However, when grown outside this plant can be hardy in zones 6-11. Humidity levels must be high to keep these plants leaves from drying. Misting the plant occasionally, placing on a pebble tray, or introducing a humidifier are good ways to increase humidity.
