This dark leaved vining plant is named for the tube-shaped flowers which are similar in color to a Goldfish. Native to Brazil, these plants are prized by hummingbirds for their nectar filled flowers.

Light

Goldfish thrive in bright, indirect or filtered light, and adequate sunlight is required to encourage these plants to bloom. Avoid direct sun, which can burn these plants leaves.

Water and Soil

Goldfish plants generally need to be watered once the top 2” or so of soil have dried. This plant can stand to dry out a bit more during winter months, but take care not to allow your Goldfish plants soil to dry out entirely.

Temperature and Humidity

Goldfish plants do fine at the temperatures in most homes, but they should not be exposed to temperatures below 60 degrees F. These plants also do well in the humidity found in the average home, making them very popular houseplants. However, Goldfish plants love added humidity, and you can provide your plant with some through a humidifier, pebble tray, or misting.
