Care Guide

Light

Pilea Baby Tears prefers medium to bright filtered or indirect light. This plant can be grown in lower light exposures, but its growth rate will slow. Avoid direct sun as it can burn or damage this plants foliage. Rotating your Pilea once or twice a week will encourage even growth.

Water and Soil

Pilea Baby Tears is a thin leaved plant which should dry out by only about 30% between watering. This plant should receive more water once the top 2" of soil have dried. Well draining potting soil that is amended with a bit of peat moss and perlite or vermiculite works well for Pilea Baby Tears.

Temperature and Humidity

Pilea Baby Tears prefers room temperatures between 65 and 85 degrees F. Temperatures below 55 degrees should be avoided, as this plant can react adversely to sudden cold. This plant does well at standard household humidity levels, however, Baby Tears would also appreciate higher humidity. Additional humidity can be achieved with a humidifier, pebble tray, or regular misting.
