Silver Lace Fern | Pteris ensiformis
The Silver Lace Fern is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia, China, and parts of Polynesia. Its green narrow fronds grow in a triangular and upright formation with ruffled margins, while silver and white stripes of variegation emerge from the center of the frond like lace, lending to its common name. The Silver Lace Fern is widely cultivated as both an indoor or outdoor ornamental plant.

These ferns need bright to medium or diffused light. Direct sunlight should be avoided as it will burn this plants foliage.
Water and Soil
Pteris ferns must stay evenly moist at all times but take care to not let the plant stand in water. Well-draining soil that is amended with peat moss works best for these plants.
Temperature and Humidity
Pteris ferns typically prefer temperatures ranging from 60 degrees to 80 degrees F. As with many ferns that are native to tropic and subtropical regions, they love humidity. Be sure to either provide your indoor fern with a humidifier or mist it regularly.
