Tree Ferns will do best in medium to bright indirect light. Harsh, direct light can be damaging to this ferns fronds, and therefore should be avoided.
Water and Soil
Tree Ferns like soil which is evenly and lightly moist. Wet or soggy soil can quickly cause issues for this plant, and should be avoided at all costs. Inspect the soil both visually and physically, testing it with your finger before providing more water. Allow the top inch or so of soil to dry between waterings. Well draining soil is essential. A mix of perlite and peat moss or coco coir will provide a balance of drainage and moisture absorption.
Temperature and Humidity
Tree ferns prefer household temperatures of no lower than 65 degrees. This soft leaved fern needs adequate moisture to ensure its delicate fronds don’t dry out. For this reason, many people prefer to keep these ferns near a sink or in a bathroom. You can provide your plant with extra humidity through a humidifier or pebble tray as well.
