Care Guide

Light

This plant thrives in bright filtered or indirect light. Avoid direct sun or hot afternoon sun as it will burn this plants leaves. Dark corners should also be avoided. If the color on this plant starts to fade or new leaves are green it is not receiving enough light.

Water and Soil

Allow soil to dry by about 25% or more between watering. Do not over-water or allow this plant to sit in wet soil. Good drainage is a must with this plant. Standard, well-draining potting soil that is amended with approximately 30% peat moss is ideal for this plant. This plant can be allowed to dry to around 50% during the winter as long as there is medium to moderate humidity provided.

Temperature and Humidity

This plant prefers room temperatures between 65 degrees F and 85 degrees F. Don't let temperatures drop below 60 degrees as this could damage the foliage. Cold window sills or drafty areas should be avoided. This plant thrives in average to moderate humidity levels.
