Care Guide

This plant thrives in bright filtered or indirect light. Can tolerate some direct sun.

Water and Soil

Keep this plant evenly moist at all times. Venus flytraps do not like to dry out as it causes their leaves to yellow and brown. A simple moisture holding growing medium that contains at least 50% peat moss and 20% perlite is ideal for this plant. Sphagnum moss works well as an alternative.

Temperature and Humidity

Prefers temperatures between 65 degrees F and 85 degrees F. Although it can sometimes tolerate colder temperatures, don't let temperatures fall below 50 degrees F as this may damage foliage or cause the plant to go dormant. Prefers higher humidity areas like kitchens or bathrooms and does benefit from occasional misting for additional humidity.
