Care Guide

Light

Ficus radicans thrives in consistent medium to bright, indirect or filtered light. Turn your plant every so often in order to encourage even growth.

Water and Soil

Allow the top layer of soil to dry between watering. Ficus radicans needs a well-draining soil. Something that is heavy in perlite and peat moss will work nicely.

Temperature and Humidity

This plant prefers a warm, room-temperature setting between 60 and 80 degrees F. This plant can withstand lower temperatures when grown outdoors, and in a dormancy period, but should not be exposed to severe temperature drops as an indoor plant. Avoid placing your plant near heating vents which may dry out your Ficus radicans. This plant does not require high humidity, but will certainly appreciate it. This plant would love to be kept in a sunny bathroom or kitchen where it can benefit from the added humidity.
